As a recording engineer:
I record and mix various
ensembles, either in studio or on location.

As a recording instructor:
I offer private, in-home lessons in recording. Lessons are tailored to
the individual's desires. (Most of my students are primarily interested in
learning to record themselves and their ensembles.)
Together, we work on
equipment budgeting and selection, recording techniques, recording software and
virtual instruments, the art of mixing, and other topics appropriate to the
individual's desires. In just a couple of months, musicians can be
producing quite credible recordings all on their own.
For a musician, being able to record yourself is wonderfully liberating.

As a drummer/percussionist:
Drumset, hand percussion, vibraphone, and classical percussion are my major
performance fields.
My full-length CD, Beatles on Vibraphone, in which Beatles songs are played in solo and jazz group
contexts, has been well reviewed worldwide. Remaining copies

Most weekends, I can be found playing with one or another popular music ensemble in
the Los Angeles region.
I am also a member of the Los-Angeles
based trio Inkplot,
which is currently recording its third album.

As a musical instrument and recording equipment development
manager:
I have extensive experience as a program manager and sound designer for
various musical instruments and recording devices.
I have collaborated on the development and release of dozens of products into the marketplace for such brands as Alesis, M-Audio, Numark, Ion Audio, and Akai Professional.
