$495 Computer Makeover Special

A full day of computer consultation,
shopping, setup, and training

In this package, we spend the whole day together. I visit your home, where we discuss your current setup (if you have one) and what you would like to change. Often, this involves purchasing a new computer and new computer furniture, ordering a high-speed internet service, purchasing a digital camera, etc.

As important, we talk about what you want to do with technology.

Shopping and in-home setup
Then, we go shopping together (usually at Best Buy or Staples), and we purchase your new equipment. Our in-home discussion helps you avoid buying more than you need, often saving you more than the day's cost!

With your new equipment in hand, it's time to set it up. Back at your home, I unbox and set up your gear for you. I uninstall "bloatware" and "trialware" (useless programs that computer vendors often install in order to trap you into paying upgrade fees), and I install a strong, free anti-virus program for your protection.

If you have data from a prior computer that you want to keep, such as documents, email contacts, or Internet favorites, I transfer that information to your new computer.

We set up your email, printer, network, and other software and hardware.

Then, we begin some training on your new system.

This process generally takes one very long day. If necessary, we will flow into another session. This may occur, for instance, if we need a cable or phone company to complete its internet installation. However long we take, I provide a minimum of eight hours for this package. Travel to and from your home is not included in this time.

Getting comfortable with your new equipment
What is most important is that you become truly comfortable and confident with your technology. That's the real goal of my service. I will work to get you well set up and comfortable in our computer makeover day. Additional time can always be booked with me at my hourly rate, and I can always be reached via phone or email for further support.

A great gift!
Do you know someone who could use some computer help? Consider giving him or her a gift of either a few hours of my time or else a complete computer makeover. Whoever receives this gift from you will be very grateful.
